Limburg

Hugo always felt a special connection to the work of Charles Eyck (1897-1983) who was born in Meerssen. He painted the landscape, houses and figures close to our home in Valkenburg. He also designed glass-in-lead windows and other religious scenes. Hugo collected photos and correspondence of Charles Eyck, with Toon Hermans, Bertus Aafjes and Pyke Koch making this a wonderfully personal and inspiring collection.

Paul PM Gilissen was a frequent guest artist in Toonzaal Maastricht. When not painting he and Hugo would spend hours in the Gallery solving the problems of the world!

Artists like Lei Molin, Pieter Defèsche, H.C. Jonas and Ger Lataster also get their inspiration from the landscape, still life, bible tales, and some interpret this in an abstract form.

We show you a little of what is to be found here in the south of the Netherlands.
